316L angel steel is a chromium-nickel austenitic stainless steel with added molybdenum, which provides greater resistance to corrosion and pitting. It is non-magnetic, and offers higher strength at elevated temperatures. It is non-hardenable by heat treatment.

316L angel steel has a high resistance to many chemical corrodents and marine atmospheres. 316L angel steel are more resistant to general corrosion and pitting/crevices than conventional austenitic stainless steels. 316L angel steel also offer higher creep, stress-to-rupture and tensile strength at elevated temperatures. 316L angel steel are also well suited for fabricated or formed applications.
