ASTM A240 310/310S stainless channel steel widely used in all kinds of architecture and engineering structure, such as the beam, bridges, transmission tower, hoisting.

ASTM A240 310/310S stainless channel steel is an austenitic heat resistant alloy with excellent resistance to oxidation under mildly cyclic conditions through 2000ºF. Its high chromium and nickel contents provide comparable corrosion resistance, superior resistance to oxidation and the retention of a larger fraction of room temperature strength than the common austenitic alloys like 304.Stainless 310 is often used at cryogenic temperatures, with excellent toughness to -450oF, and low magnetic permeability.

ASTM A240 310S stainless channel steel is used when the application environment involves moist corrodents in a temperature range lower than that which is normally considered "high temperature" service. The lower carbon content of 310S does reduce its high temperature strength compared to 310H.
